Born and raised in Western Australia, Bec Bartell has always harbored a deep love for animals and nature. Art has been a constant presence in her life, evolving from her early years of quilting and textile art to a passionate pursuit of painting.

Bec’s work beautifully captures her appreciation for the natural world, influenced by the dramatic light effects and rich atmospheres of Baroque and Dutch Golden Age paintings. Since 2015, her reputation as an acrylic painter has flourished, with her pieces exhibited in galleries across Australia and featured in private collections worldwide.

A two-time finalist in the Bluethumb Art Prize (2021 and 2022), Bec has also earned recognition in various local art awards throughout Western Australia. Recently, her artwork graced the cover of a Kate Morton novel, reaching audiences in six different countries. Through her vibrant and emotive paintings, Bec continues to share her vision of nature's beauty and complexity.
